Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Win Lawsuit Forcing News Agency To Quit Taking Photos Of Them, Son Archie

Splash News and Photo Agency will no longer be allowed to take or distribute photos of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry or their son.

Splash News settled a lawsuit with Markle and Prince Harry on Friday, according to Refinery 29. Markle and Prince Harry first filed a lawsuit against the U.K.-based news agency after paparazzi photographed Markle and her son on a walk near their temporary home in Canada.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have successfully settled a legal claim brought at the beginning of this year against the paparazzi agency Splash U.K.,” read a statement from Meghan and Harry’s legal representation, according to the outlet. “This settlement is a clear signal that unlawful, invasive, and intrusive paparazzi behaviour will not be tolerated, and that the couple takes these matters seriously – just as any family would.” (RELATED: Meghan Markle’s Dad Defends Publishing Private Letter From The Duchess)

The lawsuit is only one of many privacy lawsuits the couple has filed since stepping down from their royal roles back in January. Markle and Prince Harry are still in the middle of an ongoing lawsuit against Associated Newspapers for publishing a personal letter from Markle to her father.

“There is a human cost to this relentless propaganda, specifically when it is knowingly false and malicious, and though we have continued to put on a brave face – as so many of you can relate to – I cannot begin to describe how painful it has been,” Prince Harry said at the time, Refinery 29 reported. “Because in today’s digital age, press fabrications are repurposed as truth across the globe. One day’s coverage is no longer tomorrow’s chip-paper.”
