Alabama quarterback Mac Jones has received a huge honor from the Associated Press.

The AP dropped its All-America teams Monday, and the Crimson Tide passer was slotted as the quarterback on the first team. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Florida quarterback Kyle Trask was named as the QB of the second team.

Ultimately, this is the correct choice for the AP first team. It simply is, and I’m saying that as someone who is no fan of Alabama or the SEC.

Jones has had an outstanding year, and he 100% deserves all the recognition coming his way.

While he might not be the athlete or thrower that Justin Fields, Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson and Kyle Trask are, Jones just goes out there and wins.

Right now, Alabama is humming and his play from under center is a huge part of the reason why. Without him, Alabama would be very good, but would they be dominant? I’m not so sure.

Now, can he win the Heisman? We’ll find out in a few days, and I certainly like his chances.
