Former President Donald Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen apologized to porn actress Stormy Daniels for keeping her from speaking about her alleged sexual encounter with the former president, the Associated Press reported.

While he was Trump’s attorney, Cohen arranged a $130,000 payment to Daniels in order to silence her. The payment ultimately landed Cohen in prison, the Associated Press (AP) reported. Now Cohen is broadcasting Daniels’ story himself and discussing her alleged sexual encounter with Trump. Cohen and Daniels discussed their respective experiences with Trump on a recent episode of his podcast, according to AP.

During their conversation, Cohen apologized for “the needless pain” he inflicted upon Daniels when he arranged the payment to keep her quiet during the 2016 presidential campaign, AP reported. (RELATED: Michael Cohen Pleads Guilty To Charge In Mueller Probe)

“Both of our stories will be forever linked with Donald Trump, but also with one another…Thanks for giving me a second chance,” Cohen said to Daniels, according to AP.

Federal prosecutors accused Cohen of violating campaign contribution rules by setting up the hush-money payment for Daniels and another similar payment to a Playboy model. He was also charged with tax evasion and bank fraud. He pleaded guilty to all charges.
