Fox announced “The Simpsons” would be renewed for two more seasons.

The renewal puts “The Simpsons” running through 2023 for its 33rd and 34th seasons, according to Variety. The show continues to be the longest-running scripted primetime series with 757 episodes.

“Everyone at ‘The Simpsons’ is thrilled to be renewed once more, and we are planning lots of big surprises. Homer will lose a hair, Milhouse will get contact lenses, and Bart will celebrate his tenth birthday for the thirty-third time,” Matt Groening, creator of the cartoon said in a statement, Variety reported. “Original, brilliant, outrageously funny, prophetic…there aren’t enough positive adjectives to describe this genius comedy which continues to entertain viewers of all ages,” Dana Walden, Chairman of Entertainment, Walt Disney Television said, according to the outlet. “Jim Brooks, Matt Groening and Al Jean lead a team of all-stars who hold such a high bar for themselves and leap over it with each spectacular episode,” the statement reportedly added. “On behalf of everyone at our studio and the millions of fans of ‘The Simpsons’ around the world, I want to thank our wonderful partners at FOX for making this a truly great day.”

Walden is not wrong. If you’re ever looking for something good to watch on TV, “The Simpsons” does not disappoint.

There’s also the show’s uncanny ability to predict things that will happen in real life. That almost makes it worth watching no matter what, just to see if the show can accurately predict what will come next in our messed up reality.
