Fox News contributor Lara Trump called liberals’ reaction to the current border crisis hypocritical on “Fox & Friends” Monday.

Trump said the current border crisis is “part of the Biden plan” adding that the border was the most secure during former President Donald Trump’s presidency. The former president’s daughter-in-law said reactions from Democrats to the crisis under the Biden administration is hypocritical, claiming the recent surge is worse than during the Trump era.

“We had the most secure border under my father-in-law, under President Donald Trump than we have had in decades and the best thing possible is to discourage people from making that really dangerous, awful journey north, through our southern border,” Trump said. “The problem is that the Biden administration has said ‘well, if they come, we’ll take you in.'”

“The way they covered this under the Trump administration versus the Biden administration is total hypocrisy. Where is the outrage from the folks on the left? Where is AOC down there doing a photo-op crying in front of a wall? Because I have news for her, it is much worse right now than it ever was under the Trump administration,” she said.

In 2019, Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib cried while describing the conditions at the southern border, Newsweek reported. Tlaib said there was a crisis at the border and the Trump administration treated the migrants cruelly.

Trump said Democratic leaders who have proposed a voting rights bill hope that illegal immigrants will be able to vote in future U.S. elections.

“They are hoping that all these folks can go in and vote with no voter I.D. because that’s one of the things in HR-1 that they’re proposing. These are their new voters and it is a terrifying prospect if we let everybody just free flow over our southern border, we lose our country,” Trump said.

The Biden administration rescinded Trump-era immigration policies including freezing construction on the border wall, rescinding the “public charge rule,” which denied immigrants from obtaining permanent legal status if they relied on government assistance like Medicaid and federal housing, and ended the Migrant Protection Protocols, which required immigrants to wait in Mexico while their cases were processed, according to the Center for Immigration Studies.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said on March 17th that the surge of migrants at the border is not a crisis and that Trump’s immigration policies contributed to the current situation.

“I will share with you how I define a crisis. A crisis is when a nation is willing to rip a 9-year-old child out of the hands of his or her parent and separate that family to deter future migration,” he said, according to USA Today.
