Authorities arrested a Texas mother Friday for allegedly sneaking into her daughter’s school to protest its allegedly lax security.

Casey Garcia reportedly snuck into the Garcia-Enriquez Middle School in San Elizario, Texas, disguised as her 13-year-old daughter. The 30-year-old mother was charged with suspicion of criminal trespassing and tampering with government records, CBS 12 News reported.

Garcia attended her daughter’s classes June 1 without the teachers noticing she was not her daughter for some period of time. She documented her experience on social media, saying, “Do I look like a 7th grader? No? Cool, awesome.”

Garcia’s YouTube video shows her walking around and greeting staff. At the end of the video, she was caught by a teacher who realized she was not her daughter and sent her to the principal’s office. Garcia thanked the classmates for not telling staff about the disguise. (RELATED: Mom, Daughter Arrested For Allegedly Hacking Into Homecoming Election, Rigging Votes)

In a follow-up video Wednesday, titled, “Why I posed as my 13 year old daughter. A raw but real answer,” she said she proved a point that the public school system does not pay attention to their students and that its security is weak.

“We need better security at our schools. I proved it,” she said. “I stayed because no one knew I was there.”

“I was not a person, I was ‘Hey, put your phone away,'” she continued.

“This is about our children and the safety of our children,” she said. “That’s all I’m trying to do is prevent another mass shooting.”

She included that schools need metal detectors and that students should not carry backpacks in order to ensure their safety. She defended her actions by asking viewers if they would rather have a person commit another mass shooting.

“Are you more concerned that I, a parent, was sitting next to your child or do we want to wait for the next person taking their Second Amendment right to the extreme?” she said. Since the Columbine shooting in 1999, more than 248,000 students have experienced mass shootings at 260 schools across the U.S., according to The Washington Post.

Garcia filmed her arrest as authorities arrived at her house for a traffic warrant and she admitted to police that she posed as her daughter.

Garcia is arrested with a $7,908 bond, KTSM reported.
