REPORT: Kanye West Being Investigated For Alleged Criminal Battery

Kanye West is reportedly under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department for alleged criminal battery, a spokesperson for the LAPD told Page Six.

The 44-year-old rapper allegedly got into an argument in the early morning hours, a police spokesperson confirmed to the outlet in a piece published Thursday. (RELATED: ‘It Was So Scary’: Kim Kardashian Talks About Taking Care Of Kanye West After He Got COVID-19)

The “Donda” hitmaker and the fan’s interaction allegedly became physical after the superstar rapper punched the person, TMZ reported.

The rapper, who officially changed his name to Ye, has not been arrested, Variety noted. The alleged incident is being investigated as a misdemeanor battery, which carries a maximum of six months behind bars, the report noted.

West was seen out earlier in the night with new girlfriend Julia Fox and other celebrities at a restaurant club in LA, the outlet noted.

The “Heartless” hitmaker has been in Los Angeles for about a week and seen out multiple times amid his divorce from Kim Kardashian. The “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star filed for divorce in February 2021 after tying the knot in 2014. The two also share four children together.
