Aaron Rodgers might be sticking around with the Green Bay Packers.

According to Ian Rapoport, there is “optimism” that the two sides might be able to hammer out a deal for the future. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

How much money would it take for the Packers to hang onto their star player for a few more seasons? Rapoport pegs that number at around $45 million.

It’s amazing how quickly the narrative has changed on Rodgers‘ future with the Packers. Last summer, it looked like there was zero chance he’d be in Green Bay for much longer.

Then, he had a very solid season, the relationship seemed to improve and it now looks like he might stick around for the foreseeable future.

I don’t think anyone would have thought that’d be the case if you asked them a year ago.

Now, is he going to come cheap? No, he’s not, but you don’t land star players in the NFL for cheap prices. They cost big money, and that’s what Rodgers will demand for any extension.

While there are still a lot of moving pieces to work out, Packers fans should certainly start feeling some optimism about the way the situation is trending.
