Actress Rosario Dawson told an audience at Chicago Comic Con Sunday that she heard “The Punisher” is coming back while actor Jon Bernthal would reprise his role.
The “Dopesick” actress said during a panel discussion that she “found out yesterday that ‘The Punisher’ was happening again,” according to a clip shared on Twitter.
“So, I feel like it’s my second chance, ’cause [The Punisher] was the only one of the shows that I wasn’t in, and I love Jon Bernthal. So, let’s make it all happen collectively, guys,” Dawson continued in the Comic Con Clip.

Dawson immediately walked back her comments in her own Twitter post, saying that she was told by a fan that the show would return. Despite rolling back her comments, fans are unsure on whether the news was true, according to Entertainment Weekly.
I can’t be trusted…!
Getting intel from fans during signings is iffy apparently.
My bad.
I get excited.

“The Punisher” is part of the Marvel television Universe (MCU) in which Dawson plays superhero Claire Temple, according to EW. Bernthal has consistently expressed support of “The Punisher” and his role as Frank Castle, EW noted.
“Frank Castle is 100 percent in my bones and in my heart,” he told the outlet in 2019, “He will always have a place in my heart and I will always be very protective of him and that project.” (RELATED: Chris Pratt Rips Critics Over Their Hatred Of His #1 New Show)
“The Punisher” was cancelled by Netflix after just two hit seasons, EW continued. “Daredevil: Born Again,” another popular MCU show, will return to screens on Disney+ some time in the spring of 2024, the outlet noted.
