Former NFL Star Marshawn Lynch Arrested For DUI, Faces Numerous Charges

Former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) Tuesday morning following a traffic stop in Las Vegas.

The 36-year-old had reportedly been driving his 2020 Shelby GT500 erratically and struck several curbs on the side of the road before being pulled over by police, according to TMZ. When officers pulled the vehicle over, they found one of the tires was completely missing while another was flat, the outlet reported.

“Through the course of the investigation, officers determined that Lynch was impaired and conducted an arrest,” law enforcement officials told People Magazine.

Police laid a number of charges against the former Seahawks player in addition to his DUI charge, including failure to surrender and operating an unregistered vehicle, according to USA Today.

Lynch remains in custody at Las Vegas City Jail and bail has been set for $3,381, according to USA Today. Lynch’s court date has been sept for September, according to TMZ.

The former pro-bowler refused to submit to a breathalyzer when asked by police, however, police sources indicate his blood was drawn for testing, according to TMZ. Lynch was previously arrested and charged with DUI by Oakland police in July 2012 while he was signed with the Seattle Seahawks, according to CBS Sports. Just a day prior to his most recent arrest, The former pro-bowler had been named as the special correspondent for the 2022 Seahawks Broadcast team, the outlet reported.
