President Joe Biden once pleaded with his son Hunter to seek help for his drug addiction, according to heartbreaking audio released Tuesday by The Daily Mail.
The clip is reportedly from Oct. 15, 2018, three days after Hunter allegedly made a false statement while buying a gun.
In the voicemail, Biden can be heard pleading with Hunter to get help.
“It’s Dad. I called to tell you I love you. I love you more than the whole world, pal. You gotta get some help. I don’t know what to do, I know you don’t either. I’m here no matter what you need. No matter what you need, I love you,” the president said in his message.

The audio’s release comes as federal agents who are investigating Hunter Biden for tax and gun crimes believe they have enough evidence to charge him, according to The Washington Post. (RELATED: Reporter Presses Jean-Pierre On Hunter Biden Investigation)
Biden could face gun charges stemming from a 2018 firearm application he submitted to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Biden allegedly claimed on the application he was not “an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance.”
Despite his affirmation, Biden suggested in his memoir he was using crack cocaine during the time period in which he purchased the firearm, writing he was “smoking crack every 15 minutes.”
