Talk show host Buck Sexton, a former intelligence officer, blasted NBC Tuesday evening for suspending reporter Miguel Almaguer over his report on the Paul Pelosi attack.

“I think it’s pretty straightforward. This is yet again the American people being shown what the rules of so-called journalism,” Sexton told Fox News host Will Cain. “Liars get Pulitzers and truth tellers get fired or in this case suspended, because it’s all about activism. It’s all about support of the partisan narrative in the moment.” (RELATED: ‘Let’s Set The Record Straight’: Watters Fires Back After Newsom Criticized Him For ‘Aiding And Abetting’ Pelosi Attack)

NBC retracted a Nov. 4 report by Almaguer and suspended him, saying the segment “did not meet NBC News reporting standards.” Almaguer’s Nov. 4 report, based on an anonymous source, stated that Pelosi answered the door after officers knocked and walked back towards the alleged attacker, contradicting a federal indictment that claimed the responding officers opened the door to the home where they found the two men in a struggle, according to the Daily Beast.

“After a ‘knock and announce,’ the front door was opened by Mr. Pelosi. The 82-year-old did not immediately declare an emergency or tried to leave his home but instead began walking several feet back into the foyer toward the assailant and away from police,” Almaguer said in the report, according to the Daily Beast. “It’s unclear if the 82-year-old was already injured or what his mental state was, say sources.”

A law enforcement official who saw bodycam footage of the incident at the Pelosi related a version of events similar to Almaguer’s report, NBCBayArea.com reported.

Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was allegedly attacked Oct. 28, suffering a skull fracture and other injuries. David DePape, the alleged perpetrator, pled not guilty to federal charges Tuesday.

“Tonight, there’s more confusion about what happened inside Nancy Pelosi’s house on Oct. 28. If you remember, that’s when a nudist named David DePape attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer,” Cain said. “According to a federal indictment by the federal Department of Justice, police officers opened the door to Nancy Pelosi’s home. This is fascinating because it’s in direct contradiction to the filings by San Francisco district attorney and local law enforcement who say that no, in fact Paul Pelosi opened the door.”

Cain showed clips of various personalities and contributors for NBC and MSNBC downplaying the Hunter Biden laptop, claiming it was Russian disinformation, during 2020, when a New York Post report about the laptop was censored by social media companies. The Washington Post and New York Times later confirmed the authenticity of the laptop in 2022.

NBC did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
