A U.S. Marine Corps. veteran drank a beer out of her prosthetic leg at the Los Angeles Lakers game Monday against the Indiana Pacers.
The fans cheered for Annika Hutsler as she drank, with the jumbotron showcasing the moment at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, TMZ reported. Despite apparently rooting against the Lakers, she earned the title “Fan of the Game” and won a $100 gift card. The Pacers beat the Lakers 116-115, even though Lebron James’ team had a 17-point lead at one point in the game. Hutsler enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. in 2017, according to TMZ. She chose to have her leg amputated two years later following multiple attempts to take a tumor out of her foot. Hutsler now works in careers involving acting, modeling and sports. She won silver in both the 100-meter and 200-meter wheelchair races at the U.S. Department of Defense Warrior Games.
Another fan made the first half-court shot since January 2020 during Monday’s game, according to Lakers Nation. Jamie Murray sank the shot to win the $75,000 MGM Rewards Big Shot Jackpot. He became the 12th person to hit the shot since 2007, when the promotion started.
