Famous actress Chloe Cherry, best known for her role in the HBO hit “Euphoria,” was reportedly charged in January with misdemeanor retail theft.

Police alleged Cherry was shopping at the Building Character shopping plaza in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Dec. 27 and took a $28 blouse into a change room. She paid for a number of items on her credit card, but did not pay for the blouse in question, according to TMZ. Representatives with Cherry’s camp spoke out to say these allegations are false.

An employee with Building Character on North Queen Street reportedly showed police surveillance footage that showed Cherry  aking a Moda International blouse into a dressing room. When she left the change room, she did not appear to have the blouse, but it also was not left in the change room, according to Lancaster Online.

Marty Hulse, the owner of Building Character said the blouse was stolen from Jenny Gohringer’s clothing seller Jenny & the Clowder which is located a separate flight of stairs away from most of the other vendor locations, according to Lancaster Online.

The employee reportedly phoned police and alleged that Cherry admitted to taking the blouse during her discussion with the authorities. The employee said Cherry then produced the blouse and returned it to the officer, according to Lancaster Online. (RELATED: Thieves Drive Stolen Audi Through Mall During Brazen Robbery: Police)

Cherry’s team has reported a very different series of events, and has pushed back on these claims as being completely untrue.

“In December, there was confusion over a blouse that wasn’t properly charged to my client’s credit card,” Cherry’s team said, according to TMZ

“In no way did she ‘admit’ to taking the blouse, since that was not the case,” they said. “This story seems to be more about a local store trading on a celebrity’s name more than anything else.”
