Good (potential) move by my Dolphins.

This offseason, the Miami Dolphins have added a couple of wide receivers to their depth chart, and as a result, the team could let go of one to create some cap space.

The franchise is reportedly open to the idea of trading wide receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr., according to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson. Last year, Wilson agreed to a three-year contract with Miami when he was a free agent, and is set to make $7 million in base salary in 2023.

If the Dolphins make a trade before June 1, they’ll clear $6 million in cap space, and if they do so after June 1, it would then get boosted up to $7 million — Miami wouldn’t get the same cap space if they cut Wilson. As a result, the Dolphins are fine with retaining him if they can find a trade partner, according to Jackson.

It looks like Miami is already drawing interest as well:

What a great offseason it’s been for my Miami Dolphins.

We’re over here landing big fish like Jalen Ramsey, making a key move here and key move there, and intelligently clearing up cap space. I don’t know what changed with Dolphins culture over the past few years, but I’m loving it. (RELATED: REPORT: WWE Selling To UFC Parent Company Endeavor At $9.3 Billion Valuation)
