WMAL radio host Chris Plante will host a new primetime show on Newsmax starting May 8, the network announced.
His new show, “Chris Plante The Right Squad,” will consist of a five-person panel led by Plante, Newsmax’s Jenn Pellegrino and three other hosts, the network said. The panel will “talk about the major events that are affecting America — and no topic will be off-limits.”
“Chris Plante is an award-winning journalist who delivers fact-based news and opinion while keeping the conversation fun and interesting,” Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy said. “We are proud he is joining the Newsmax team after years of success at CNN and Cumulus/Westwood One.”

He currently hosts the conservative radio program, “The Chris Plante Show,” on WMAL and had previously spent 17 years at CNN, according to Newsmax. Plante said he is “absolutely thrilled” to join the network to get at the “unfiltered truth.” (RELATED: Greta Van Susteran Set To Host Newsmax Show)
“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the outstanding team at Newsmax and getting to work on a great show dedicated to carving through the fluff to get at the unfiltered truth,” Plante said. “And whoever it was that said you can’t get the occasional laugh out of today’s crazy news obviously did not know me.”
The new addition comes as Fox News and CNN both ousted its most prominent anchors, Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson and former CNN anchor Don Lemon.
