Reality television star Todd Chrisley alleges he is being targeted in prison because of his celebrity status.

The “Chrisley Knows Best” star, who is serving a 12-year-sentence for bank fraud and tax evasion, believes someone took photos of him while he was sleeping and has complained about the living conditions in prison, his lawyer told TMZ.

Chrisley’s attorney, Jay Surgent, told the outlet that Chrisley believes his mail is being destroyed, but that he he has no idea what someone’s motive would be to intercept his mail in that manner. He also claims that the prison is plagued by poor plumbing, and the possibility of mold, Surgent told the outlet. On top of that, Chrisley said he is forced to live in an area that doesn’t have any air conditioning, and the brutal heat is starting to take its toll on him, the attorney said, per TMZ. A representative with the Bureau of Prisons told TMZ that the safety of their inmates is a “top priority” and confirmed that Chrisley’s prison, as well as the prison where his wife is serving time, both have “contingency plans to address a large range of concerns … including ventilation temperatures.”

Surgent is pursuing “all legal avenues'” to rectify the prison’s living conditions, according to TMZ.
