Grammys leader Harvey Mason Jr. on Friday told Variety the decision not to nominate country music and all-genre record-breaking icon Morgan Wallen for the 2024 awards “affected” him.

Wallen has rewritten the history of music between 2022 and 2023, but apparently that’s not enough for the smug, narcissistic losers who run the Grammy Awards. This redundant body of failed musicians went out of their way to ignore Wallen with their 2024 nominations. And Mason Jr. spewed the hottest pile of industry crap you’ll hear all year when Variety asked him about the seemingly blatant snub.

“Well, I always believe that we’ve got to be fair and we have to be honest — I think that goes without saying. But music is subjective, and when you’re evaluating it, a lot goes into that. Our voters, I believe, take the task very seriously. I think they generally do a really good job, doing the work of listening and making decisions based on the music, but it is subjective. And when it comes to snubs, it absolutely disappoints me — I’m affected by it, for sure, because I’m a creator and a musician,” Mason Jr. told Variety, even though they were asking him about Wallen, not his own ego.

In his entire response about Wallen, Mason Jr. didn’t mention the artist once. I’ve seen some pathetically cheap people move up the ranks in Hollywood, but this guy just took the leading role. And he wasn’t even done vomiting his biased opinion all over the place. (RELATED: ACM Awards Breaks With Mainstream, Nominates Country’s Biggest Artist Morgan Wallen)

“And I know what it feels like to put all your heart and your soul into a project that you really believe that you believe is the best work. So it disappoints me, I always want to make sure we’re being representative and we’re being accurate. But it’s very subjective,” he continued, vomiting his biases everywhere.

To put it in perspective: This is the same group that absolutely loves singer-songwriters like Taylor Swift. All of Swift’s songs sound exactly the same, so the “subjectivity” Mason Jr. is referring to must be his and his colleagues’ total lack of taste. He concluded his statement by saying the Grammy award nominations is one of his “favorite days of the year because it really exemplifies what the Academy is all about.” So, the Grammys are all about being on the wrong side of history and putting the wants and needs of their own members above what’s right? How sad that Mason Jr. will be remembered for such a cheap, tasteless move.
