Dejan Milojević, who is an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors, was rushed to a hospital Tuesday night and died Wednesday.

While at a Salt Lake City restaurant, Milojević suffered a “sudden and serious health issue,” according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne. The Warriors were in town for a Wednesday game they had scheduled against the Utah Jazz, but the NBA has postponed the contest due to the medical emergency. Milojević died of a heart attack, according to Shams Charania.

Golden State players and coaches were eating together at the time of the incident.

Milojević, 46, is currently in his third season as an assistant to Steve Kerr. After putting in nine seasons as a head coach in the Adriatic Basketball League, he was hired by the Warriors in Aug. 2021.

When Milojević was the head coach of Mega Basket, one of the players on the roster was future NBA champ and two-time MVP Nikola Jokić, who joined the Serbian club in 2012 at the age of 17. In 2015, his last season in Serbia before becoming a Denver Nugget, Jokić was named MVP of the ABA.

In 2016, Los Angeles Clippers center Ivica Zubac played for Milojević as a member of Mega Basket. (RELATED: ‘I Ain’t The One’: Russell Westbrook Comes Face-To-Face With T’Wolves Fan After Callin’ His A** Out In True G Fashion)

Milojević was highly praised in his efforts to help forward Kevon Looney get better as a rebounder during Golden State’s 2021-22 postseason run, which ended with them winning the NBA Finals over the Boston Celtics.
