Police reportedly issued a speeding ticket to famous actor and comedian Will Smith Friday morning after he sailed past a series of warning and danger signs.
Smith was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed while driving on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, according to TMZ. That particular stretch of roadway is known to be a treacherous zone. Numerous signs and warnings are posted along the route, demonstrating the very real dangers that exist if travelers opt to ignore the posted speed limit. Smith seemed to show no regard for the cautionary messaging and was allegedly clocked traveling 63 mph in a 45 mph zone, according to TMZ.

The signs along the highway reportedly tell the tale of what may happen to those who don’t abide by the speed rules, but that didn’t seem to bother Smith. He allegedly continued driving his vehicle at a high rate of speed, as he passed signage that depicted 58 people had lost their lives on that stretch of pavement in the last 14 years, according to TMZ.

Police have deemed this particular stretch of roadway as being a zero-tolerance zone, and subsequently nabbed the famous actor when he allegedly sped through the area. It is not clear what type of vehicle he was driving at the time, or whether or not he had any passengers in his vehicle, according to the outlet.
The 55-year-old was issued a ticket in spite of his fame after allegedly taking the twists and turns too fast, which ultimately posed a risk to his safety and the safety of those around him.

This particular spot made headlines Oct. 4, 2023, when a 22-year-old BMW driver sped through at 104 mph, before colliding with another vehicle. It’s unclear if Smith faced any additional charges aside from speeding.
