Actor Billy Bob Thornton offered an epic update on his new show with “Yellowstone” co-creator Taylor Sheridan from the red carpet of the CMT Awards Sunday.

Thornton stars in the upcoming Sheridan series “Landman,” a contemporary tale of the complex Texas oil industry and sociology. He’s joined in the series by a slew of heavyweight talent, including the likes of Demi Moore, Jon Hamm and so many more. But what has it been like for Thornton to work on the series with all this talent?

“They’re awesome,” Thornton said of the team, according to Entertainment Tonight (ET). “It’s become quite the little family, I will say. Everybody’s great.”

Thornton attended the CMT Awards in order to present Jelly Roll with the “Video of the Year” award for his track “Need a Favor,” ET reported.

In “Landman,” Thornton will play the lead role of Tommy Norris. The series entered production in early February, Paramount+ announced. The series is more than halfway through filming, Hamm told People. The series is expected to hit the Paramount+ network in the coming months, possibly even by summer should filming wrap and editing be smooth. “Landman” is one of many shows currently in production and development between Sheridan, Paramount+ and 101 Studios. We’re also hoping the final installment of “Yellowstone” will drop some time this year. But there are no major updates on when, or even whether, that’ll happen.
