Country music icon Morgan Wallen was arrested Sunday and charged with three felony counts for throwing a chair off the sixth-floor roof deck of a bar in Nashville. But what prompted the singer to allegedly do such a dangerous and stupid thing?

A report published Wednesday by TMZ detailed how Wallen was partying with friends at Eric Church’s new Chief’s bar on Broadway in Nashville on Sunday, the same night as the CMT Awards basically ignored all of Wallen’s success (not that anyone really cares about CMT anymore). In the moments leading up to the chair-hurling incident, Wallen was apparently chatting to a random woman on the rooftop alongside two others.

Other witnesses to the incident claim that Wallen was pretty darn drunk during his conversation with the black-haired mini-skirted gal. People close to Wallen have consistently leaked stories of concern about the 30-year-old’s drinking habits. But did he really get blotted enough to hurl a chair?

TMZ says there’s no exact reason why Wallen threw the chair. They just claim it was definitely him caught on surveillance cameras, hurling the furniture. (RELATED: Is Morgan Wallen’s Future In Comedy? You Tell Us After Watching This Commercial)

One witness, a security guard for Church’s bar, told TMZ that there was no argument, no discomfort, nothing that would give anyone a logical reason as to why Wallen threw the chair. “He was being an idiot and just threw it. There wasn’t really no argument or nothing. Just him being drunk. I feel like he wasn’t in the right state of mind,” the witness stated.

PageSix argued that Wallen’s antics were triggered by his ex-KT Smith’s elopement just days prior. Smith and Wallen share a son and were previously engaged.

“KT’s marriage to Luke [Scornavacco] last week just crushed him,” one alleged insider told the outlet. “Whatever happened at that bar had to be reality hitting him in the face over losing the love of his life.”

In all fairness, Wallen lost the love of his life well before the chair-throwing incident. Wallen was not faithful to Smith, nor his other girlfriends, apparently. So, as much as you might want to have sympathy, Wallen seemingly had every opportunity to be the man Smith deserved.
