Jessica Biel recently explained why she and her famous husband, Justin Timberlake, moved out of Los Angeles.
“That’s just our family choice,” the actress said on a May 22 episode of SiriusXM’s “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa.” She went on to explain that she was seeking a life of “normalcy” for her young family, and felt that wasn’t attainable in Los Angeles. The star admitted that she got tired of being recognized in public and felt her children deserved a different lifestyle.

Biel said that she and Timberlake wanted to get away from the constant attention, which frequently interrupted personal family moments with her husband and two young children, three-and-a-half-year-old Phineas, and nine-year-old Silas.
She explained that she knew it was time to go when boundaries became in a constant issue.
“I don’t really think they necessarily respect that, you know, if we’re out and about with our kids,” she said on the podcast, referring to fans and paparazzi.

“It can be somewhat country dependent, where if we’re in this country, in the States, it’s kind of like state by state, you know. You get hammered on the East Coast, you kind of get hammered on the West Coast. That’s why we don’t really live there anymore,” she said.
“It’s just trying to create some normalcy for these kids, and we want to share our family with our loved ones and friends,” Biel added.

Biel went on to say that if her children decide to be forward-facing in the press when they get older, that’s a decision they can make on their own, rather than being exposed to such attention unwillingly at a young age. (RELATED: Justin Timberlake Debuts Gravity-Defying Stage)
“And I know this very social media world is where they exist and where they live and that will be a very big part of their life and their reality. I just don’t want it to be on my account, so we try to engage in a way that feels authentic,” Biel said.
Biel, Timberlake and their two young children currently reside in Montana.
