Thirty-eight-year-old model, and wife of John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, described the terrifying moments she faced aboard an airplane that experienced “erroneous takeoff.”

Teigen detailed her experience Monday on her Instagram Story, telling fans she truly felt she could have perished during the frightening experience.

“We just had something called an erroneous takeoff. I don’t even know what ‘erroneous’ means to be honest with you. We were going a thousand miles an hour to take off and then came to a complete stop,” Teigen said. “For like three seconds I was bracing for impact, like absolutely positive that we were braking because we were going to hit something and we didn’t.”

Teigen continued recording as the plane taxied back to the gate. She shared a number of short clips to her social media page, with the camera up close to her face so her 42.4 million fans could fully comprehend the fear she had faced.

Her voice was shaky and her facial expressions were vivid as she told her tale.

“I became very religious all of a sudden. I was like ‘praise the lord, praise be,'” she said.

“I’m so grateful for the pilots and the plane, for doing, what they’re supposed to do.”

Teigen juxtaposed her pre-flight video clip against the video footage she captured after the incident to demonstrate the fragility of life and how quickly things can take a dramatic turn.

She referenced the pre-flight footage, which showed her describing the airplane menu by reading, “Classic Beer Cheese” soup. She jokingly said, “Meemaw’s beer cheese,” excitedly, as she documented the beginnings of her trip.

“That’s actually my worst nightmare,” Teigen pointed out.

“Documenting your flight and being like, ‘oh here’s the plane, here’s the menu.’ And then, like, all my last photos, like on DailyMail would be, like – ‘she had beer cheese. That was her last meal.'”

“My last video was me saying, ‘Meemaw’s beer cheese,’ which is actually so great. My last words were nearly Meemaw’s beer cheese!” she exclaimed.

Teigen didn’t indicate the name of the airline she was flying with, but she did throw credit to the pilot and crew, by saying she was “so grateful for these pilots and the plane for doing what it was supposed to do.”

“We’re good, we’re ok.”
