A United Airlines from Canada to Texas flight was reportedly forced to ground on Friday after 30 passengers fell ill mid-flight.

Many of the 163 passengers aboard the Boeing 737 MAX 8 were part of a larger travel group on their way home from a cruise. The flight from Vancouver was reportedly forced to land at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, where emergency responders were waiting to treat the sick passengers. Although many were suffering from nausea, likely linked to sickness from the cruise, first responders determined no one aboard needed emergency medical attention, the Daily Mail reported.

At around 6:20 p.m., the Houston Fire Department was reportedly called to the scene.

United Airlines confirmed that passengers aboard the plane were ill and flying together. Many flying to Texas were a part of a travel group comprising of about 75 people. Upon landing in Houston, the plane was pulled from rotation to receive a deep cleaning, according to the Daily Mail. In May, passengers aboard a Condor flight from Mauritius to Frankfurt reportedly suffered from an illness causing many to throw up mid-flight. Although this flight did not deviate from its course, emergency personnel waited to treat those in need upon arrival in Frankfurt. Seventy of 290 passengers reported symptoms of nausea and vomiting, according to Blind, a German outlet.

“Condor is working closely with all relevant partners and authorities. At this point in time, no result is available. We generally do not participate in speculation about the cause, for example about individual meals on board that were prepared in Mauritius,” a spokesperson told the outlet.
