I wonder if Nick will buy him a new laptop …

Philadelphia Phillies right fielder Nick Castellanos knocked a foul ball into the press box, resulting in a reporter’s laptop getting absolutely smashed.

Tim Kelly, a reporter for Phillies Nation, posted a picture from Saturday’s game from his point of view in the press box — the matchup was at Camden Yards between the Phillies and Baltimore Orioles in a 6-2 victory for the birds. Castellanos was 0-4 at the plate for the day.

Fortunately for Kelly, he didn’t suffer any injuries, but as far as his laptop is concerned … I wonder if he’ll make any funeral arrangements.

Not only do I wonder if Nick is going to buy Tim a new laptop, but was Tim able to keep the ball?

All this reporter did was leave us with more questions, though he did post this on Twitter after the fact which I found funny.

Honestly, Tim should view this particular laptop smashing as a badge of honor.

It’s not like he got his computer smashed by an angry wife or it got destroyed after his two-year-old poured milk all over it, this is something honorable like a Major League Baseball foul ball. What he should’ve done is take advantage of the story to get him his portion of 15 minutes of fame — I’d say he had about three in this whole instance.

I know they say “Journalists aren’t supposed to make themselves the story,” but screw that noise, you shoulda got yours, Tim!
