I cuss like a sailor (though I need to stop), but Michael Kay is absolutely on point here.

During his introductory press conference Monday as the new Los Angeles Lakers head coach, JJ Redick dropped not just one, but two F-bombs to the media — and it was broadcasted on live television. It was a terrible look for the Duke Blue Devils legend, bringing up questions about his temperament and his lack of coaching experience, with some even saying he’s not qualified for the Lakers gig. New York Yankees announcer and ESPN New York’s Michael Kay saw the press conference, and he wasn’t a fan whatsoever. In fact, he got so irked that he didn’t just go after Redick, he went after society as a whole for our degenerate ways. And good for him!

“What exactly has happened to the coarsening of our society where a guy who went to Duke, a bright guy, just drops an F-bomb — Why? — on live TV,” said Kay on the Tuesday edition of “The Michael Kay Show.”

Michael Kay himself even retweeted Awful Announcing’s posting of the clip, doubling down on his irritation with culture today.

We really do need to chill a little bit, we’re like the modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah out here, like damn.
