Netflix dropped the first look teaser trailer for the upcoming docuseries “Aaron Rodgers: Enigma” Monday and it is nothing like we were expecting.
When you hear the words “Netflix” “Aaron Rodgers” and “documentary,” the last thing that comes to mind is the New York Jets quarterback on a private jet boring you to tears with statistics. This is exactly what we get in the first teaser for the upcoming docuseries on Rodgers, one of the funniest and most controversial athletes in modern history.
“It’s all percentages,” Rodgers tells the camera, before talking very quickly about math and football to the point where we literally couldn’t keep up. Rodgers is joined in the single-scene teaser by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who worked extensively on Rodger’s season-ending 2023 injury to his Achilles.
There’s another person in the scene, who remains faceless throughout. It’s a woman, and from the few clips we see of her, she’s clearly very close and very tender toward Rodgers. Rumors suggest Rodgers was the daughter of Milwaukee Bucks owner Wes Edens, Mallory Edens, at the time, according to the New York Post. Aside from the boring statistics (which I’m sure most football fans actually love) this series does sound pretty fascinating.
The docuseries will follow Rodgers after ripping up his Achilles in 2023, following him throughout his professional career. (RELATED: Aaron Rodgers Credits His Success To Psychedelic Plant)
“But game-day plays and press conferences can only reveal a small part of the four-time MVP’s story,” Netflix’s Tudum teases. The series premieres on Dec. 17, just in time for the holiday season.
