The screen icon Miss Bardot, who is working as an animal rights campaigner said she had been asked to run for the president in 2012 by the Ecology Alliance party. The party campaigns for the animal rights and against the issue of halal meat by the Muslims.
The 76 years old lady retired from acting in the 1970s and now concentrating on the animal rights issue.
She wants a law to be introduced to ensure the animals are stunned before their throats are slit in keeping with the teaching of Islam. She wrote a letter to the French president Nicolas Sarkozy saying that a voice is needed to defend the animals.
