Kesha took to social media to explain to her fans why she is dropping her sexual abuse case against Dr. Luke.

In a statement on her Facebook account, the 29-year-old singer, whose real name is Kesha Rose Sebert, explained that the California lawsuit against her former producer was being dropped so she could concentrate on getting out new music. “My fight continues,” Kesha wrote. “I need to get my music out. I have so much to say.”

“This lawsuit is so heavy on my once free spirit, and I can only pray to one day feel that happiness again,” she added. (RELATED: Kesha’s Mom Drops Her Counterclaim Against Dr. Luke)

While the suit in L.A. has been dropped, the singer wanted to be clear that the lawsuit filed in New York remains.

“I am continuing to fight for my rights in New York,” she wrote. “Thank you for all your support. The support of my fans has been so beautiful and I’m so grateful for it.”

“I’m not sure where I would be without you all.”

On Monday the singer’s attorney announced the news about dismissing the case.

“Kesha has dismissed her California action without prejudice while she pursues her appeal and other legal claims in the New York courts,” Kesha’s attorney Daniel M. Petrocelli said, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

A New York judge, earlier this year, dismissed the singer’s claims against her record label Sony and Dr. Luke. Kesha had filed a lawsuit against the music company and producer Dr. Luke after she claimed he tried to rape her. She appealed the decision.
