ST. LOUIS, MO — Hillary Clinton’s campaign was quick to condemn one of its spokesmen Sunday night after he urged Donald Trump to “go fuck yourself” in a mid-debate tweet.
Jesse Lehrich, a foreign policy spokesman for Clinton, attacked Trump after the Republican nominee suggested that Army Capt. Humayun Khan would still be alive if the U.S. had never gone to war in Iraq.
hey, @realDonaldTrump – regarding your claim that Captain Khan would be alive if you were president:
go fuck yourself.#debate

Lehrich’s tweet, and his subsequent apology, came during a contentious town hall debate where Clinton was attempting to paint herself as the more mature candidate.
I want to apologize for the clearly inappropriate nature and language of this personal tweet. Sorry all.

“He apologized, as he should have,” Brian Fallon, Hillary’s national press secretary, told The Daily Caller following the debate.
“It was completely inappropriate and it has no place in our campaign,” Fallon added.
