The Minnesota Vikings quarterback situation is wild at this point because now Teddy Bridgewater is expected to also leave.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted Tuesday morning, “With the March looming and some murkiness around #Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater’s contract, he is expected to be a free agent, sources say. Minnesota is not planning to assert that his contract tolls and Bridgewater is proceeding as if he’s a free agent.”

There is a very obvious play here, and it’s to bring Kirk Cousins in as quarterback. You don’t dump your top two guys, both of whom are starting caliber, unless there is a much bigger plan underway.
It’s risky though. It’s very risky for Minnesota because they will have nothing if Cousins goes elsewhere. This is the kind of gamble that will define a GMs career. You bag Cousins and get him under center, you’re a hero. Anything else happens and you’re probably bound for the unemployment line.
The scary thing is how good the Vikings could be with Cousins. They were a game away from the Super Bowl with Case Keenum. Think about that for a second. They would be unreal. Hopefully it works out for the management in Minnesota or they’re in deep trouble.
