Upscale New York City gyms are reaching out to millennials by creating photo-worthy spots for Instagram.
Exercise facilities in New York are creating unique displays to attract millennial customers, according to the New York Post Monday. The upscale studios are decked out with colorful wallpaper, eclectic furniture, and even DJs to make exercising more enjoyable.
The Pop Physique barre, for example, is decorated with colorful fruit design wallpaper and even a selfie wall called “Pop Ur Selfie” to encourage their customers to take photos. (RELATED: Millennials Answer: Would You Rather Date A Trump Supporter Or MS-13 Gang Member?)
“It’s very important to document what you do now,” said Jenn Williams, the founder of Pop Physique, according to the New York Post. “It’s like you didn’t do it if you didn’t Instagram it.”
There are three Pop Physique studios in New York City with classes starting at $32, according to Pop Physique’s website.
The Sky Ting yoga studio has a pink conversation pit for women to relax and unwind between sessions.
“It’s an old idea and hadn’t been revisited when we did it,” said the designer Nick Poe, according to the New York Post. “It’s cozy, a little sexy, maybe, and really fun.”
There are three studios in New York City with classes starting at $24, according to Sky Ting’s website.
Cardio Dance Gym 305 Fitness has a DJ booth so it will feel more like a club than a gym.
“Anyone can have a stereo, but when you walk in that class, it feels customized for you,” said Doug Houstoun, whose team designed the studio’s location in Midtown, according to the New York Post.
