Kelsea Ballerini Asked To Join Grand Ole Opry

Country music group Little Big Town had the honor of asking singer Kelsea Ballerini to become part of the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday during a joint performance of the show.

Little Big Town called Ballerini back up on the iconic country music stage to perform “Girl Crush” with them according to Entertainment Tonight. At the end, Karen Fairchild changed the lyrics to ask, “Kelsea Ballerini, will you join the Opry?”

Ballerini shared a video of the moment to her Instagram. Watch below:

Ballerini will become the youngest member of the Opry at 25 years old. The Opry currently has 66 members and has had over 200 acts since the Opry began in 1925. (RELATED: Check Out The Hottest Looks At The Country Music Association Awards)

Ballerini also shared a photo to her Instagram thanking everyone for the opportunity. She wrote, “This has been at the very top of my bucket list since I wrote my first song at 12 years old, and tonight the heart of country music wrapped their arms around me and asked me to be family.”

“In tears over how much this means to me,” she added. “Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Ballerini has been hitting a number of milestones in her career this past year. She was a presenter and a nominee at the Grammy’s and will be starting her “Miss Me More” tour in April.

Ballerini is set to be inducted into the Opry on April 16.
