Co-host of “The View” Sunny Hostin argued Wednesday that people should apologize to comedian Michelle Wolf for criticizing her jokes that targetted White House press secretary Sarah Sanders.

During a segment of Wednesday’s “The View,” Hostin accused Sanders of lying — and then claimed that Wolf, the comedian who spoke at last year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner, had been right when she joked that Sanders’ “perfect smokey eye” effect was made of lies. “The media did get it right when Sarah Sanders wasn’t lying to the media,” Hostin claimed. “I think we owe Michelle Wolf an apology. Because one of her jokes was, ‘I actually really like Sarah. I think she’s very resourceful. She burns facts, and then she uses that ash to create a perfect smokey eye. Like maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s lies. It’s probably lies.’ We all know because she told Mueller that she lies.”

According to Mueller’s report, Sanders admitted to making a generalized statement regarding rank and file FBI agents who complained about Comey — which she later said was not based on any specific knowledge of such complaints.

Cohost Abby Huntsman suggested that Wolf had taken things much further, pointing out that she had also attacked Sanders on her looks and with references to “The Handmaid’s Tale.” Another of Wolf’s jokes had referred to Sanders as the white women’s equivalent of an “Uncle Tom.”
