Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly recently hinted that the game against Navy in Ireland could be moved.

With coronavirus sweeping across the world and sports shut down, lots of people are wondering what the college football season will look like. Well, it looks like the location of the August 29 game is up for debate.

According to Douglas Farmer, Kelly said “discussions are under way” about potential changes to the game, and “all options at this time” are being looked at. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

If I’m a Notre Dame or Navy football player, there’s no chance I’m going to Ireland for a football game. Our Navy might travel well to kick butt in wars, but risking it in Ireland with coronavirus is stupid.

If the game can be played in America during the ongoing pandemic, then that’s exactly what should be done. There’s no need for unnecessary risk.

We just want football. We don’t need anything fancy. We just don’t, which means we’ll survive with the game being played stateside.

While I usually love the theatrics and showmanship of a big college football game, now isn’t the time for that. We just need to do whatever is necessary to make sure the games happen.

Bag the trip to Ireland and play the game in America.
