The NBA reportedly wants to have things rolling again in less than a month.
According to a Sunday report from Brian Windhorst, the league is looking at a “25 day return to basketball window” amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
Windhorst added that players would have to go through more training and then would hope for the green light to play actual games. It’s unclear if fans will be allowed to return whenever the league does start back up.

I don’t want to sound like a pessimist, but this report from Windhorst seems a bit too optimistic. The NBA is going to be back in 25 days?
Yeah, I’ll believe it when I see it. Until I actually see players practicing or working out again, I refuse to believe we have any reason to think games will start soon.

A 25-day window means we’d be back to having action in the first half of May. Does anybody think sports will be back by May?
If the most optimistic people I know don’t seem to think sports will be rolling again before June. Hell, college football doesn’t start until the end of August, and the fate of that hangs in the balance.

We’ll see what happens, but I’m not holding my breath for the NBA to be back in less than four weeks. I don’t see any realistic situation where the virus is under control that quickly.
Of course, I hope Windhorst is correct and the NBA is back sooner than later. Nothing would make me happier, but I just don’t see it happening.
