Detroit Lions receiver Danny Amendola wants to win on behalf of the city he now calls home.
With the NFL season looming on the horizon, Amendola made it clear he’s playing for the people who call Detroit home. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
“There’s nothing like that feeling of winning for your city. That’s what we want to see the most. That’s what inspires us, that’s what pushes us day in and day out because we want to win for our club and for our city. We want to represent Detroit,” Amendola said in a graphic shared Tuesday by the team on Instagram.

Look, I appreciate the motivational quotes, tactics and the desire to represent the city in a positive light. I honestly do.
However, none of this means anything if the Lions aren’t actually winning football games. Let me be crystal clear with everyone out there.

This is all meaningless talk if it’s not backed up on the field by Amendola and the rest of the roster. It means nothing otherwise.
The idea that a few motivational quotes should matter over results is laughable. Honestly, I’m sick and tired of hearing how every year is supposed to be the one where we finally get some results.

I’ve had enough of the talk. I just want some damn wins! After that’s been accomplished, then we can get to talking.
The season is a few months out, and I hope Amendola and the rest of the crew find a way to get the job done.
