The majority of people think the college football season won’t happen.

Throughout the offseason, I’ve been asking people on Twitter whether or not coronavirus will impact the season. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Given how bad things have been with coronavirus over the past several weeks, I cranked it up a notch and asked if the season would even happen.

Of the 2,710 voters, 68.6% of people voted that they expect the season to be canceled.

To quote somebody I talked to Sunday with their finger on the pulse of the situation, “It seems like we’re only delaying the inevitable at this point.”

I’m honestly not sure how we can have a football season if things get much worse. The Big 10 and PAC-12 have both already canceled all non-conference games.

You can probably safely assume they won’t be the only P5 conferences to pull the trigger on that move. The ACC will almost certainly do the same, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Big 12 and SEC followed.

What happens if a player ends up in the hospital? What if a player dies from coronavirus? I’m not saying any of this because I’m trying to fearmonger.

I want the season to happen more than anyone else on the planet, but things just aren’t looking great. The fact we went from the majority of people being fine in May to people panicking by July tells you everything you need to know.

I hope like hell the season is able to happen, but I’m not holding my breath for positive results anymore.
