Comedian James Corden might be leaving the “Late Late Show” after his contract ends in a couple years.

Corden hinted at his departure from the show in an interview published Wednesday by The Sun.

“I have a couple of years to go on this contract. Ending the show will always be a bigger family decision than a professional one,” Corden told the outlet. “It will be about people at home who we miss very, very much, who we are homesick for. I also feel like my wife and I have three young children, and they are three young grandchildren that we’ve taken away from people.” (RELATED: James Corden Confirms He Does ‘Carpool Karaoke’ Filming After Viral Video Shows Him Not Driving)

“This probably feels particularly magnified now during the pandemic, but I have an overwhelming feeling that our family has walked to the beat of my drum for a very long time,” he added.

In August of 2019, Corden signed an extension of his contract that is supposed to last through August of 2022, according to a report published by The Hollywood Reporter.

I will be very sad to see Corden go. He is one of my favorite people in the world of comedy. “The Late Late Show” will not be the same without him if he chooses to go, but I totally understand wanting to be closer to family.
