“The current plan is for the Queen’s birthday parade to go ahead in London as normal, with the acceptance that it may need to be adapted or scaled back depending on what guidelines are in force at the time,” a royal aide told the outlet. “But the aspiration and the ultimate desire is to make it happen.” (RELATED: REPORT: Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Looking To Extend Exit From Royal Roles)
The celebration will also mark the first national celebration to occur in the United Kingdom since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Queen Elizabeth II will turn 95 years old.
The Trooping of the Colour did occur in 2020, but happened at Windsor Castle and was much smaller due to the coronavirus pandemic, The Sunday Times reported.
The last time Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended a royal event was on March 9, at the Westminster Abbey Commonwealth service, Page Six reported.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle currently reside in Los Angeles with their son Archie.
