Pop star Shawn Mendes canceled the rest of his world tour Wednesday, telling fans he had to put his health as his top priority.

Mendes posted the news on his social media accounts early Wednesday morning. “As you guys know, I had to postpone the past few weeks of shows since I wasn’t totally prepared for the toll that being back on the road would take on me,” Mendes wrote in the post. He noted that both his team and “an incredible group of health professionals” made it clear he needs to take time to “ground myself and come back stronger.”

“This doesn’t mean I won’t be making new music, and I can’t wait to see you on tour in the future,” Mendes continued, after explaining that he will no longer perform his North America, UK, and Europe-based shows.

A number of prominent social media accounts responded to Mendes with words of support, including Tommy Hilfiger and author Jay Shetty. “We admire your courage and fully support you, Shawn,” the official Hilfiger account wrote. “Proud of you for doing what’s right for your wellbeing. We’re here with you,” Shetty responded. (RELATED: Camila Cabello’s Boob Full On Fell Out On Live TV, And Now People Are Sharing Her Nudes Like Crazy)

Mendes reportedly hinted at struggles back in December 2021, largely related to social media, according to TMZ. He’s been on tour since June 27, where he kicked things off in Portland, Oregon, according to People. He was set to play more than 40 concerts between then and October, the outlet noted.
