Rapper Hurricane G Dead At Age 52

Famous rapper Gloria Rodríguez, best known by her stage name Hurricane G, died at the age of 52.

Her death was confirmed by Erick Sermon, a member of the rap duo EPMD, who also shares a daughter named Lexus with Rodríguez. Sermon posted a heartfelt message to his Instagram account late Sunday night.

“My heart is hardened today. One of my good friends …. my oldest daughters mother passed away today #HURRICANEGLORIA was also a legend in her own right in the Hiphop community,” Sermon wrote.

Rodríguez was deeply connected with the rap community and has worked with stars such as Diddy and Redman, according to ET.

“One of the first puertorican female rappers She rapped with me. @redmangilla she paved the way @keithmurray @diddy she was in all the Hiphop magazines with all the top females at the time.. #stretchandbobito loved a song that she did called MILKY,” Sermon wrote in his post.

He went on to discuss the significant impact she had.

“Pray for us. Beautiful blessings. She was a beautiful person a wonderful mother as real as they come. We love u G,” Sermon continued, along with a series of emojis.

Rodríguez had a career that spanned over the course of the past 30 years, and her fans and friends have flocked to social media to share their grief and appreciation for her. Among the mourners is Domingo Padilla, the producer of her 1997 solo album, “All Woman.”

Lexus previously revealed Rodríguez was battling lung cancer, but that has not officially been confirmed as her cause of death.
