Twitter has reportedly suspended employee access to all office buildings effective immediately with the intention to reopen later this month, journalist Zoe Schiffer says.
The alleged suspension is effective immediately, with offices set to reopen Nov. 21, according to Schiffer. Employees have been given no details as to why. (RELATED: Report Exposes TikTok Accounts As ‘Portals To Illegal Child Sexual Abuse’)
“We’re hearing this is because Elon Musk and his team are terrified employees are going to sabotage the company,” Schiffer wrote. “Also, they’re still trying to figure out which Twitter workers they need to cut access for.”

Twitter has also reportedly told its employees to, “Please continue to comply with company policy by refraining from discussing confidential company information on social media, with the press or elsewhere,” according to Schiffer.
Musk plans to lay off half of Twitter’s staff, following his takeover of the company in late October. Musk began these layoffs shortly after he became Twitter’s new owner and CEO.
Musk previously alerted employees that they have until Thursday to agree to his “extremely hardcore” plan for Twitter and that employees must be willing to work “long hours at high intensity” and exhibit “exceptional performance.” The email was sent with the subject line “A Fork In The Road.”
