Country music icon Morgan Wallen dropped a sample from a new song Thursday on Instagram.
Wallen loves nothing more than surprising his fans, which is exactly what he did when he released a sample of his latest track, “I Wrote the Book,” to his Instagram followers. The sample sounded like the first 30 seconds or so of an upcoming single or release from Wallen, and it’s so freaking good.
Wallen shared the song with a video of his friends duck hunting out in the swamps, sticking to his tradition of being a good ole country boy. “Figured I’d let y’all hear another one real quick before we all get to head banging to Hardy’s new album tonight,” he wrote in the caption.

Wallen had a huge year in 2022. He managed to cancel cancel culture after nearly losing his career in 2021, and went on to set record after record with his music and his enormous U.S. tour. Just when the world assumed he’d be taking some time to chill out and relax in his success, Wallen dropped three singles and announced a tour for 2023.
