Morgan Wallen was technically canceled in 2021, but in 2022, he officially canceled cancel culture with a series of record-breaking feats and history-making successes.

Wallen nearly lost his dawning career in 2021 after a neighbor caught him on video using a racial slur. He lost radio play, his representation, appearances — essentially all the things that were supposed to be in place to make him a success. It turns out Wallen didn’t need any of those things, because after he apologized, he won the hearts and souls of Americans everywhere with his iconic “Dangerous: The Double Album.”

Wallen had the best-selling album of 2021, which was a pretty big win for a guy who got dragged through the press and ostracized from Hollywoke. But nothing could prepare us for how Wallen kicked 2022’s butt.

In no particular order, Wallen’s album spent the most weeks in the Top 10 of Billboard 200 of any country album in history. He won Album of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards. He sold out the Globe Life Field in record time, beating the likes of Lady Gaga and more.

After his epic tour concluded in October, Wallen started planning for a huge 2023 tour, and he even released three new songs.

Other than the music, Wallen’s behavior on tour brought his reputation up and up. He stopped shows on multiple occasions to help fans and to kick out people who were causing problems. He even brought one fan to a show after the fan got arrested while wearing Wallen’s mugshot.

Wallen has also surrounded himself with people in the music industry who set global tones for the way people should be treated. Diddy, for example, rushed to Wallen’s defense, un-canceling him at the Billboard Music Awards in May. This camaraderie is something Wallen defines in his own approach to working with other musicians. His 2022 tour featured a slew of his buddies, such as Kameron Marlowe, HARDY and Ernest, all of whom are now growing in their own success. He’s also championed the career of Bailey Zimmerman, who is sure to be a household name by this time in 2023.

It’s no wonder Wallen is closing out 2022 as the first musician in history to spend 100 weeks in the Top 10 Billboard 200 chart. Here’s to 2023!
