First it was NPR, Slate and CMT. Now, the New York Post has joined the anti-American ranks of country music haters.

There is no good music this summer, according to Chuck Arnold, a guy who thought it was a good idea to praise Lizzo in the midst of her heavy fall from grace. Before you lose your mind, just know this guy thinks Harry Styles’ song “As It Was” is good, so he’s not exactly one for taste. But that’s not the point.

Arnold’s point is that the current No. 1 musicians — Jason Aldean and Morgan Wallen — are “problematic.” And an even bigger problem is that neither of these country music icon’s songs are good enough for him, apparently. Why? Because they haven’t united the nation “under a groove.”

Well, buddy, I think the footage from Wallen’s sold-out summer tour might beg to differ. As would the billion streams he’s received in the last six(ish) months on his chart-topping single “Last Night.” (RELATED: NPR Has A Completely Unoriginal Theory On Why Country Music Is So Successful)

Perhaps the issue is actually that Aldean and Wallen aren’t part of the cookie-cutter BS pop crap that’s been vomited out by the mainstream music industry for decades? And their success speaks to the lack of control the mainstream industry has over We The People, which must be quite scary for those in charge who perpetually underestimate the intelligence of their target audience.

NPR thinks Wallen and Aldean are successful because America is racist. CMT snubbed Wallen, despite him being the #1 country music artist for a couple of years running. CMT also pulled Aldean’s latest music video from their network. And Slate thinks the only reason Americans like Wallen is because fans are trying to “own the libs.”

So-called music reviewers should stop the hate, and start focusing on why America has so much love for the music that defines our culture. (RELATED: Media Loses It Over Morgan Wallen’s Latest Hit)

I’ll give you a hint: it’s because we don’t trust the mainstream entertainment industry anymore, and we’re sick of the way you speak about us and this country. There are more Wallen and Aldean supporters than there are those against, so join the bandwagon or get left behind.
