Failed country music singer Maren Morris hated so hard on successful people in her industry that she destroyed her own career in an interview published Friday.

They say Fridays are when news outlets “take out the trash” and share stories most people don’t care about. This makes sense, given Maren Morris literally destroyed her career in an interview published Friday. She treated her fans, her industry and her country with utter disrespect.

Morris, who loves to try and argue with actual successful country music artists like Jason Aldean, is officially giving up on her attempts to gain the same level of notoriety or public support. To hammer the final nail in her career coffin, Morris recently told the Los Angeles Times the only reason people like you and I enjoy artists like Oliver Anthony, Morgan Wallen, John Rich, Aldean and others, is because we’re spiteful.

Spiteful listeners who are just trying to “own the libs,” Morris essentially claimed. Morris is echoing the exact same phraseology as Chris Molanphy from Slate Magazine, who tried to say this mindset is the only reason Wallen was the No.1 artist in the country in 2023. But the ripple effects of her tantrum have cost her everything she thought she once had in the field.

Like everyone without an original thought in their head, Morris went on to blame former President Donald Trump for everything she can’t achieve. Trump made conservative biases obvious, Morris notes, including those related to not wanting our children to be chemically castrated by medical institutions under the guise of the “transgender” movement.

“People are streaming these songs out of spite. It’s not out of true joy or love of the music. It’s to own the libs. And that’s so not what music is intended for. Music is supposed to be the voice of the oppressed — the actual oppressed. And now it’s being used as this really toxic weapon in culture wars,” Morris told the outlet. Does someone want to let Morris know the reason we stream these songs is because they’re good and absolutely speak to our culture (unlike literally anything she’s ever written, ever)?

The sheer narcissism of Morris’s interview is jaw-dropping. She claimed she’s “one of the few women that had any success on country radio,” utterly ignoring her female peers within the industry. In response to Morris’s cringe and career-ending commentary, Rich tweeted, “Poor Karen.”

Let’s hope Morris’ choice to “quit” country music (lol, bless. The public clearly dumped her) means we will literally never have to deal with her, her hate and her snobbery again.
