Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter, Shiloh, reportedly filed paperwork to rid herself of the Pitt last name, the very day she turned 18.

Shiloh exercised her right to advocate for herself the moment she came of age, by formally filing a request for a legal name change, according to TMZ. If granted, the young girl’s name will officially become ‘Shiloh Jolie.’ The fact that Monday happened to be Memorial Day didn’t stop Shiloh from proceeding with the formality. Numerous reports over the past several months have suggested Pitt’s relationship with his children has been strained.

Shiloh is one of Jolie and Pitt’s three biological children. During the course of their marriage, they also adopted three other children, including 19-year-old Zahara, who has also been using the Jolie last name for quite some time. It’s unclear if a formal name change was requested by Zahara, or if she just assumed her new name.

Jolie and Pitt’s other daughter, 15-year-old Vivienne, has also reportedly been using her mother’s last name and has been dropping the “Pitt” part of her identity as well. She was recently only referenced as Vivienne Jolie on a playbill for a Broadway musical produced by her mother, where she worked as a PA, according to TMZ.

22-year-old Maddox, the couple’s eldest child, has reportedly not used his father’s last name for a while, either. It appears that Shiloh was the first to go to court and make her name change a legal and formal one, according to TMZ.
