Ariana Grande clapped back at fans that accused her of having a fake voice, after noting her sudden pitch change during a recent appearance on Penn Badgley’s “Podcrushed” podcast.

Grande’s voice unmistakably changed in the middle of her conversation on the podcast. It was a dramatic difference when fans observed that her voice went from the regular, low tone that she had been speaking in, to a suddenly high-pitched one that seemed to come out of nowhere. Fans immediately picked up on the strange and sudden pitch change and began questioning what was wrong with the famous singer.

Social media ignited with comments, and one particular TikTok video dragged Grande for being “fake.” It didn’t take long for the star to confront the backlash by declaring this was an intentional move on her part.

Grande took a moment to respond to the TikTok video by commenting on it directly.

“Habit (speaking like this for two years) and also vocal health,” Grande wrote, a screenshot obtained by AOL shows.

“I intentionally change my vocal placement (high/low) often depending on how much singing I’m doing,” she continued in her own defense.

Grande attempted to shut down further conversation about the topic, and accusations that she was somehow being fake.

“I’ve always done this BYE,” the star wrote to the creator’s TikTok page, the screenshot shows. (RELATED: Ariana Grande Breaks Her Silence On Her Time At Nickelodeon Amid Sexual Assault Allegations Against Children’s Network)

This isn’t the first time the famous singer has addressed vocal changes that she has exhibited mid-conversation. Grande was also questioned during a voice change that transpired as she was presenting an award at the 2024 Oscars, according to Page Six. She noted she was working “tirelessly” to transform her voice for her starring role in “Wicked,” AOL reported.
